Manual Handling

International Manual Handling Safety & Ergonomics is a practical, life-critical safety course designed to help workers prevent musculoskeletal injuries associated with lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and other manual handling activities. It covers international legislation and standards, manual handling risk assessment, ergonomic risk factors, injury mechanisms, safe lifting and carrying techniques, team handling, and the effective use of mechanical aids.

Through real-world injury case studies, interactive hazard-assessment activities, scenario-based learning, and practical exercises, participants learn to identify manual handling risks, apply the Avoid–Assess–Reduce hierarchy, use appropriate ergonomic assessment tools, plan handling tasks safely, and adopt techniques that reduce the risk of back, shoulder, and other musculoskeletal injuries.
